Searching on the magic box it appears that Wigmore Fishery has two lakes.
Do we know which one we are to fish, and are there any bait or tackle bans, and is it a two net venue?.

The first lake, the bigger one, is basically all skimmers but there are roach, rudd, tench and a few carp. Last time I was there caught on the dreaded pellet, fairly close in but I reckon caster will get you loads of fish. The second, smaller pool has lots of carp. They can be very big despite the size of the pool. This one is also stuffed silly with silver fish but if you go for them you are almost certain to hook carp, as you do.
You can fish a bit lighter on the big pool as there is far less chance of hooking a carp

Excellent fishing, it is exacly halfway between Welshpool and Shrewsbury. From Shrewsbury look for the big Diner on you left and your there.

It is where the England Ladies team do a lot of their practising :thumsup :thumsup

This is my Wigmore Fisheries article from July 22, 2014.

Being virtually next door to a large diner this disabled friendly venue is very easy to find. It is a terriffic fishery with loads of skimmers taking centre stage on the Top Pool giving everyone plenty of bites. Add to these some bream and tench to 10 lb, roach and rudd to 1 lb 8 oz plus the odd perch of over 4 lb. On the Bottom Pool carp rule the roost with fish to 30 lb plus mixed silver fish and plenty of them. Hoseasons Lodge accommodation available.
On the Top Pool fish a soft 4 mm pellet over smaller pellet feed for large skimmers and tench; this also gives you the off chance of hooking a carp although there are not too many in the Top Pool. You can certainly target carp on the Bottom Pool to small soft boilies, pellets, meat or corn fished down the margins or over to the island sill. Try caster for plenty of silver fish and more.
Adults £7, OAPs, registered disabled and under-16s £5. Tickets are available on the bank, they apply from dawn until duk. Night fishing is by strict prior arrangement only. Disabled access. Barbless hooks only. Toilet facilities. Food on site. All enquiries: 07790 637013. Midlands byelaws. Open all year.
Just look for plenty of 'bubble' activity on both pools.
On site tackle shop opening any day now, SY5 9DB. Tel: 07790 637013.
From Shrewsbury take the A458 towards Welshpool. Midway between the two you come to Halfway House. Turn left, adjacent to the cafe (diner) and go down the drive to the fishery.
SY5 9DB.

This is a perfect venue for all: lady anglers and youngsters are most welcome.
