I'll be fishing at goldvalley lakes in october. I only own 15 ft match rods (greys g-tech float and preston absolute float).  Do you think it's ok to use them for pelletwagglerfishing? I think about buying to special rods, but wouldn't use them often.

Markus could you perhaps borrow a rod? The rods you have are not ideal for pellet waggler fishing, they will not have the right power in the right places as they are designed for different purposes, but the main problem would be netting fish if you were to use them. If the trip is a one off I would recommend trying borrow one or look out for a deal on ebay etc :thumsup

Tanks Lee. Had the same feeling with my rods. Used them on our private lake and caught some double figure carp. But this were single fishes and not big bags at a commercial. Actually i bought a new pole and two method rods. So i'll have to think about buying tackle i probably will be using very rare 😉. Any suggestion for a 11 or 12 ft pellet waggler rod? Maximum around 100 pound would be fine.

I use preston carbon active mini 11ft, a little over hundred new.
But I also have the middy's xflex 4G which are around £75 and in all honesty there isn't a massive difference between them.
It all depends on the size of fish you are targeting though, these are ideal for the fishing we do for carp averaging between 2 and 8lb with an odd lump. If the carp are averaging 8lb + you will need a stiffer rod :tiphat

I bought a Drennan Puddle Chucker 11ft Pellet Waggler rod last year, think price is about £80. Nice rod to fish with, but possibly not the best for bigger fish. Fine for the money, wish I used it more. I enjoy it more than pole fishing on commercials.
