Must admit i was in two minds whether to go after all you can get great coverage on the TV . What i can say is i'm glad i went as i really enjoyed the day especially when its fished to International rules . The venue i'm not sure about as i know the Germans would of love to of fished the competition yet it was at the limit for teams . Walking round you see lots of International anglers all with there own little quirks whether its tackle or or there tackle and rigs . One thing for sure is how professional England looked and performed on the bank they showed real class .leading from the start to the finish building a lead on every half hour weigh in and turned out to be great viewing. plus the final hour saw 4 teams in with a chance of 2nd place which also pays a cheque now . Yesterday was orange day for Holland who also brought there own film crew to cover the competition [and that wasn't cheap i can tell you]. I managed to get behind Jean desque and just in ear shot of having a few words and at the end a in depth chat about his day. Jean is Mr perfectionist when it comes to Bait ,Rigs, Presentation and hook bait choice . With Jean its not just picking a worm or maggot up and thinking that will do . Jean picks what he thinks is the right sized worm or the right shade of colour for the venue . if you ever get the chance to watch any of the French team do so its a real eye opener
Jean did say the french way and the English way is very hard as Jean felt his peg had lots of skimmers in . Yet the heavy rigs just would'nt catch them lots of missed bites and bumped fish. Yet when he put his very light rig to work he'd have a string of skimmers coming to the net . The only problem with this is the carp that came into his peg and more often than not fouled hooked would trash his rigs ::) ::)
Again and Again frustating for Jean but he can't wait until next year
The french way of playing fish is often to stand up and step back

Watched the full international event this morning on sky as I'm off work with a crappity smacked up leg . England were a class above also it reminded everyone I hope how important silverfish catching skills are it ain't all about carp carp carp . TV coverage was also better for the international event than the Saturday final where there was way too much waffle ::) some of the anglers didn't help the TV coverage though fishing stupid noddy methods catching nowt ::) ::) full credit to the lad that won it he fished a blinder , class act
