Float and hook simplicity.

Having had a break from fishing for a few years, i'm coming back but could do with some advice please on hooks and floats.

I will be fishing canals and want to keep it as simple as possible, before I had too many different floats with too many hook combinations ie: this float with this hook for punch fishing then this float with this hook for squatt etc and all I did was confuse myself.

If you only had one choice of float and hook - what would you recomend ?

The majority of my fishing will be pleasure, so i'm not looking for big weights to win matches although where allowed I will try to fish some matches on TK's cut, but I dont take them that serious that I go out thinking I must win, its more of a pleasure match with banter for me.

So i'm just looking for a float/hook combination that will do for me.

Thank-you.

Depends on what you are fishing for but as you mention punch and squatt fishing I am assuming you fish the pole

Silverfish would be 18/22 hooks and floats something like this :
