Round 2 Results Sensas MASTERS

Well we are only a week into July and with most natural venues still settling down after the spawning season . With very few roach being caught in the first round competitors thought it would be much the same .Bright sunshine and hot temperatures it looked as though they could right . although the numbers were down on the first week with a few missing we did manage 41 in total . the one's that didn't turn up missed a treat with 18 weights over 3kg endless 2kgs lowest weight was 1 kg .

Well done to John Wells Wigston AS on winning the 2nd round with 7kg 100g John had mainly Skimmers on the feeder on peg 83 unfourtantly i didn't get a picture

2nd place went to Tony Marshell Shakespeare again Tony made his magic hemp bait work after catching around 4lb of perch then topped it up with 7lb of hemp roach .3rd when to Dave Revel Long eaton who shouldn't of been fishing this week Dave had a lovely net of perch fishing 3 metres to hand. 4th place went to Neil pittfield Drennan with 4kg 600g

After the match i was caught in a catch 22 position as we had a few gaps and end pegs it was clear that these did catch better. although good anglers don't make mistakes on these sorts of pegs. still i was asked if we could do every other peg for the next one and this is the catch 22 question. the answer is although i'd like to do this we simply haven't got the pegs sutton is now 1 to 104 and into that we have a few we can't use .on the other hand we also extend the competition to 60 pegs which we had fully booked without turning anyone away back in february. if we had kept to 50 we might of been able to do this and lets say there would of been a few disappointed anglers at the time . so its every peg and lets hope everyone turns up

Here a few from my section and in fairness most of the section could of quite easily won it .

Brian Gent with his 4kg weight just missing out

Rob wootton with 3kg 250g just look at that smile and the size of that perch on the feeder

Myself counting the cost of not setting a feeder rod up

must try harder

Rikki Richards unlucky not to qualify in the first round and counting the cost of a lost fish in round two could it be third time lucky

Visiting Simon Nickless hopefully enjoyed the day plus nice catching up with him 2kg 250g

Yet another flier for Bucko and almost a smile as well

looks like the Roach should be around for the next round

What i could do with is someone in every section taking a few photos .I know a few don't like it but it brings the write up to life with a few pictures and i can't be in more than one place

What will be interesting is all the anglers that have qualified are booked in the remainder of the matches so it could open things up
