Loughborough Canal Re-Pegging

#1

Unread post by joffmiester »

It's almost here and i really think its time they review the close season and the length of it , i've been working on re-pegging the loughborough canal with my colleagues as we all know you just don't get 140 peg matches these days . so as an organiser and hearing all the moaners saying the pegging is too close it's now turned into a 90 pegged match length for the original 140 so plenty of room . Now you would think this is a easy thing to do far from it i can tell you with overhanging bushes and the odd tree in the way but hopefully it will be ready for the autumn and a roach fest . If anyone wants every other peg in this year i suggest they go pleasure fishing and not match fishing the gaps are between 24 and 25 of my strides and i'm 6ft 4in and pegged in sections of 10,15 pegs between bridges and from the boat to H/plant hire 35 so i can either have 10 peg sections or 5 pegs . Any way lets get back on the rivers first which i must say are looking about spot on as i've walked the dog the amount of river anglers doing the same has been incredible all itching to get fishing i personally think the close season wants a real good look at as fish spawn in canals during the close season .
