When the canal was solid and we caught between 14-20lb I took 1kg of gb and mixed it with the soil. That and the 1.5packs of joker were all I ever fed. Alan used to mix two bags and throw most of it away. 4kg of gb has just never happened. It is all bank side talk, I get told all the time we use 2kg of joker, loads of gb, it just is not true. I have fished the canal for 8 years now and have never done any different with bait.
I respect personal opinions from everyone, but I know exactly what I do, and anything else is just rumours. Those 3 packs from one of my guys would have been three half packs for sure.
I too hope the league is a success, and people know that great fishing is available at a reasonable cost.
I love the Barnsley comment about getting an edge. You guys need to teach me these edges! I must be missin out! Lol.
All this talk is making me excited about the canal already.

look we all know why the local lads don't go the class of angler on the bank is that good and they are that far behind bloodworm fishing they carnt win a penny a lot of the locals will go on the don or Selby were they can win a few quid and that is the truth
it will be a gr8 w/l with a brilliant class of angler on the bank but I fear there will not be many local lads on it

That must be the only bit of truth ever to come out of your mouth...........how do people learn if they don't get involved though??

I agree if u want to be good at this game u need to fish against the best and that's what will be on this w/l but those days have gone for a lot 15yr ago when we were all team fishing properly this w/l would have been massive but the canal then was dominated by the trentmen bubble bee fishing

chub i thought fishing was all about catching fish top class fishermen do have bad days kiddo
the stainy at this time of year is full of roach as you know andyou are very lucky to have such a venue on your doorstep if you practice you'd be able to give the anglers a run for there money

You wouldn't win a match on canal these days unless you took dynamite you useless Woman's wetter. For a start you would have to hold more than 4 sections of pole, to much like hard work for you that is
