Never heard of ladymoor pool, can you point it out on google maps?, i live just off castle street which is not far from the other side of the tunnel. the only reason i found parkes hall and donkey pool was down to using google maps, only other i can find is rocket pool which is a bit far for me to walk and any others i found are too far.

EDIT: found ladymore, might be a fair walk to get to it though, probably about a 30 minute walk.

Fluke, the junction is very very weedy.

If you can't catch on bridgewater drive your doing something wrong mate.

went down again today, this time i saw a guy fishing near one of the areas i have been trying, he had the full setup kinda looked like he was equiped for a match! , had a convo with him and he told me just after Xmas he was pulling 50+ out of there and then late February it went dead with reports of abnormal amounts of pike, how much of that is gospel i dont know but he said he had been there for 4 hours and only caught one small perch on maggot with no other bites, he has also got other friends who fish there and they have had similar results, simply nothing is biting/there.

he also couldnt fault anything i was doing or how i was doing it but still same result....nothing.

If there are more pike there it means there are more roach!

Has it gone clear?

even the guy i saw was scratching his head and couldnt understand it.

if you mean clear as in clear water then no, can see from about half a metre from the edge then its green, whether it was pike passing through i dont know, all i know is what was said to me and he did say there were a lot of roach there just after Xmas and january so maybe that attracted the pike and they blitzed the area and spooked the roach away?...i dont know.

josh, please go down and try it and save my sanity because if it wasnt for the guy i saw today  i would be convincing myself i need to sell all my gear and give up because i was doing something disastrously wrong!, i will even come down and watch what you are doing, you will see im not some fool with a tree branch and 6 inches of string with a worm tied to the end of it, i may not be a pro or competition worthy but im not useless at fishing.  Image

any luck josh or did you give it a miss due to the rain?

hoping i might have some more luck soon as i have just purchsed a 4 mtr whip and plenty of pole rigs, so in short i will be on the exact rig you were on josh.

better news, i went down today and for the first half hour it was a bite a cast until a canal boat came down. im guessing something spooked them out of the area the last few weeks as today was completely different and just like you guys said it would be.

thanks for all the help anyway im sure when you see me post you must roll your eyes.. ::)

water was fairly clear until the canal boat ripped everything up.

I was about 10 metres from the first bridge after the tunnel, thats where i saw the guy previous who wasnt catching, he said its normally very good there and was looking that way until the canal boat ruined it.

i was using a similar rig to what you used josh, 4m whip (not elastic though) which i got today, 4x12 float, size 20 hook, bread punch.

i never actually thought to take any pics as i was chuffed i was catching and didnt take keep net, typical the only time i didnt take it i catch!

gonna go down again tomorrow and give it another shot and take camera this time!
