Right guys - pin back your lugholes...........
Been down the canal today, and as commented earlier, it is gin - you can see the fish cruising about
Not a problem (for me) but what was a problem is down the track where we park up some tosser has fly tipped 50/100 tyres
blocking the access to that section of canal . I've reported the matter to BWB and the EA (its a joint site) but obviously cant guarantee that they'll be shifted by Sunday :(
So the contingency plan is now invoked - we will fish the Cannock Extension Canal - its got more colour in, even though I could see loads of bream basking today
when I walked it
For the uninitiated the Cannock Extension Canal is located in Lime Lane Norton Canes/Pelsall (some of you guys coming from the north or east such as Joffie would have actually passed this section on their way to where we originally planned to fish)
The nearest postcode I can find is WS3 5AS which is for some industrial units about 400 yards away
Postcode is
WS3 5AW
With those units on your left, continue 'south' along Lime Lane, cross the new Pelsall Road Bridge which goes over the cut and then about 60 yards on the right hand side park on the verge. We will be fishing the 'kennels' section which runs from the Pelsall Road Bridge down to Wyrley Grove Bridge
Same time etc...........9am draw, fish 10am to 3pm...........but the banter and yellow stream taking will start I'm sure around 8am
Give me a shout if you need any more info - same target fish, bremes, tincas and the usual roach, skimmers rudd and perch

Just a fiver guzunda - all paid out in 5 or 6 man sections (dependent on turnout), rather than 1, 2 & 3.
It aint about the money - it's about all having a laff, some banter and the bragging rights if you do aok and finish as champ

A carper shortly set up nearby...........

Waiting for the photos from Yamo to stick on here.............aok I know it was on the Common........but they also swim up that Extension

I'd love to snare a nice wild 18lb wild cut carp on the pole. Be interesting to see how different they fight to a puddle pig.

Apologies folks, but as I told Simps on the phone this morning I won't be able to make this one now as we've just found out that Mrs M's Dad(74) has been admitted to hospital. :(
I've been really looking forward to this one, epecially as it looks like there are some lumps present that may have fancied some pellets and paste and been ripe for a mugging, but they'll now have to wait till next year.
Hope that everyone has a great day and look forward to reading the reports (hopefully with loads of pictures
) and remember '
Beware of THE MINX'.
