Squads for the semi's could be named in September then let anglers fish where ever they want, let's face it 90% of the league winners/ runner ups can be named now.

correct lee! named team sheets should be handed in before decisions are made within the league, then each team competing can cast a vote on where they would like there league fished what sections and how they want the money sharing
the AGM would be a good start that way you know exact numbers of teams competing,it gives you time to sort out pegs if needed access where needed instead of last minute rushing around

and i don't except 40yard pegs is a true competition format 25yards yeah and leagues with 5 teams in them shouldn't have two qualify
if the competition is going to survive some leagues must merge or vary there venues
2river 2canal 2 commercial this way it would be down to all round angling and isn't that what this competition is all about
you are never going to please everyone but why not mix it it just might work
this stigma where commercial boys will only fish commies and natural anglers will only fish natural venues is bu#lsh!t !! if the organisers made the rules in stone and used that format and involved both parties it could work i'm sure or you just take it or leave it
one teams domination over a league is killing the smaller teams and team fishing each league tends to have one team whether its canals rivers or commercials mix it up and that could change the out come of the league. good teams will still be hard to beat but might not have all there own way

dont agree about 2 comies 2 canals 2 rivers joff our league is 3 rivers 3 canals(upper thames) this is what the members of our laegue voted for. i fear we would be 1 or 2 teams down if comies came in. let each league decide for itself

It seems to me that commercial focus is individual fishing, team fishing - at least decent size team fishing - seems to be natural venue orientated. The South West Super League still runs but thats come off commercials altogether - peg fees to high I think - and has returned to all natural venues. Even if the WL folded I think Upper Thames WL would continue to run - its that strong with 7 teams. Personally if it went 2/2/2 we would cope with it but the 3 river 3 canal format seems to work for us.

Joff,
Going off topic again, but:
I should not need to tell you this but the reason for longer pegs on rivers is to catch more fish !
Why oh why you keep bringing this up is beyond me !
The likes of Tony Marshall, Brian Hull and co. want anglers to have a good days fishing, nothing more.
Just remember if you want to get back into the league it will be voted on by the rest of the teams already competing.
Food for thought !
