He's just left after eating the last burger.
Lets just hope TK asn't got much work to do at work tomorrow so he can knock a report up and post the results up. At least he cant used the excuse he's waiting for KOD to give him the results as this match TK had the results himselve

TK vs TA 2011
Well 12 months had drifted on as we gathered again for this annual match, now in its 4th year
The match had been originally scheduled to be on the neighbouring Wyrley & Essington canal, but due to clarity of the water and a gate key problem it had been switched ‘late on’ to the Cannock Extension Canal.
There was even a late switch of section as it dawned on TK that another club match, booked 12 months prior on the ‘middle kennels’ section had precedence, so it would have to be the more exposed Boatyard section for us this year
Harrison’s had edged the series so far 2 - 1 so El Capitan Larry Teepot had assembled a quite formidable TA squad, hell bent on doing a destruction job on the ‘home’ side.
I say ‘home’ side, but to let TA’ers into a little secret the truth of the matter was that
a) Non of the Harrisons team had fished the boatyard section this season
b) And indeed some members of the ‘home’ side had never even fished the canal before
In fact, besides not having to incur any match peg fees, in all honesty the venue was probably ‘selected’ once again as most convenient for the after match free b -b - q that was generously being laid on again by Harrisons S&SC ………….
On arrival at the cut one or two ‘lonely’ TA’ers were already unloading their gear as the rest of Larry Teepots squad were obviously still in the café
Pegging done and still no sign of Larry Teepot and co………………..but out of the blue at 8.45am a convoy headed over the bridge, giving a few horn toots and the odd colourful Anglo - Saxon expression to the waiting anglers.
The Teepot, emerging from his vehicle strode up and the banter started as he complained that he couldn’t believe the best car parking places had gone meaning he’d gotta lug his gear the farthest…………but the best was still to come LOL
Adversaries for the day………. (PS click on pictures to blow them up)
Now in all seriousness, this ‘hotly fought contest’ is meant to be a laff and have some banter between us - well at least I think it is - and so, as in previous years, the draw that Larry always suggests is rigged (but aint sussed it yet), is done to split the anglers up so that one team is all on odds, the other on evens………..Larry pulled out ‘evens’ for TA and away we went, each ‘captain’ drawing a name of the other team to be allocated to the next peg.
The gathering throng, eager to learn what they had drawn
Personally with all the ‘short walk’ pegs going, I was relieved when The Teepot finally pulled my name out and I found myself on peg 19 out of the 28 (14 a side)…………….but somehow fate conspired that Larry found himself on an end peg - now how did that happen - with a bit of a walk to boot
Fortunately for him, he was able to arrive at his peg relatively ‘fresh’ by driving down to the north end of the cut to save on the shoe leather
As I trudged to 19 I passed keef who pointed out his peg had ‘plenty’ of weed cover all across the cut
‘Fish to your features’ I instructed
Plumbing up I found a similar situation - probably worse - well that’s my excuse this week - as the plummet picked up copious amounts of weed - it was difficult to find a clear spot and with the boat owner (and wife) opposite carrying out ‘maintenance’ and cleaning duties on top of the boat ::) , potentially spooking any fish across in what was a pretty clear cut I decided to just fish 3 lines - two along the track in rare ‘clear patches’ and a shorter line at 5 mtrs…..
My peg
Rigs sorted it was time for a walk and a bit of banter before the off……….
Markco MBC was watching a submarine - well I mean a carp - cruising in his peg
Next door, Simps was tooling up for that foresaid carp
The Teepot was sorting out his punch – now who told him about that
Back to 19 and Heinzer was gearing up to blow that whistle
The off - lines fed and a bite first put in……………but plan A hadn’t worked as instead of a skimmer taking a liking to my bait it was a small rudd. Hum………….that could spell problems
Well you’re already probably getting bored with this report so I’ll condense it…..as there’s a fair few pictures to come
I scratted around picking up sporadic micro fish, in the process of getting battered by Noda to my left who I was sure was going to tip 5lb on the scales
whilst NH to my right had wiped me out with a ‘bonus’ skimmer.
Now talking of Noda, I was certainly impressed with that SR5 he was wielding - it certainly stood up against the strong gusting wind as he fished ‘long’ over to a bit of weed cover by his far bank boat as he wheedled out plenty of small silvers.
A stretch of the legs and Budgie was doing plenty of damage too and a chat to a couple of the Harrisons guys at that Teepot end revealed we could be in trouble today………..
The 5 hours came and went, and having packed up, Dave Wall and Heinzer commenced weighing in from the far end. Ta guys
First to weigh was the Teepot with a nice Kinver Tiger that had snaffled one of his carefully hooked lobbies and low and behold, fresh from his Rolf’s exploits he’d played a Captains role once again and that was enough to take the section
That was 1 - 0 to TA….
Soon it was 2- 0 to TA as Budgie walked his section with 6lb odd
I’d been done either side too by the TA men as the scales went on down the cut.
Staying on behind on the towpath keeping an eye on Heinzer’s gear I hadn’t a clue as to what had come out of the ‘early’ pegs and on arrival back at the car, Dave Wall handed me the result sheets. Someone commented that ‘we’d had a pasting’ and had only won 2 sections
That didn’t surprise me given my performance and that TA were already 2 - 0 up as the scales went by.
But…………..
Heading forlornly back to base I gazed despairingly down at the result sheet (well I didn’t really - I made that bit up - after all the day’s supposed to be all about having a laff and a joke)…………. 5 sections to 2?
Don’t think so. A mental tot up of points and it was going to be closer than I’d first been led to believe as we arrived at Harrisons car park before I’d managed to tot all the scores up in my head.
I called over El Capitan Teepot ‘Come and tot these up with me before you accuse me of fiddling the result again this year ’
As I jotted down the section winners in preparation of the ‘awards ceremony’ The Teepot mentally toted up the results sheet and uttered ‘It’s going to be close’ before finally muttering ‘I don’t believe it’ as he threw the sheet down on the table
And the tale of those scales…………????

And the outcome?
35 points all - the teams only being split by 4 to 3 section winners in favour of the ‘home’ side Harrisons
Anyway, despite the onset of rain, the Harrisons ladies had also done us proud once again as we munched on burgers and hotdogs
and presented the worthy section winners with their winnings……….
First up was Mr Le Mo
Followed by KOD
And keef
And finally el capitan – Larry Teepot
.and last but not least Larry handed the trophy over to TK to return it to its spot for safe keeping in the display cabinet………

TK vs TA 2011
absolute brill write up tk plus picts reely enjoyed it
TK vs TA 2011
From what I've heard there was a bit of a battle going on in B section that could have altered the results........
ME on 5 saw his lackie zip down the cut first put in short at the back of the inside cover
Cotti on 7 lost 4 skimmers that he reckoned went a lb a piece just as he was going to net them through a hole in his inside weed
Le Mo next door on 8 lost a tinca
Two sections away in D, Heinzer lost 3 decent skimmers late on as the wind snatched his pole each time pulling the hook out. He'd also lost a decent tench earlier on that he estimated was knocking 4lb as he played it for 5 mins on his no3 lackie
