what another great day ! it felt a little like matt hayes gone fishing as the alarm clock went off at 6am max a million was up and we'd picked out all the best food in the fridge for our pack up as i could see it being a long day to be fare the journey only took 55minutes so we arrived in good time to watch the royal gate opening most of us use keys not blow touches finally the gate was opened and the convoy drove down to the car park i remembered having to walk from the other end last year to the same point still it still looks as good and TK and heinz baked beans started to peg out half one side of the bridge and half on the other side which we hadn't used before but looked good
while we waited a few of us stood on the bridge and spotted fish rising one trick stoke sorry i meant bill said i'l be surprised if we watch them today[ adversely trying to put us off the sent ] so back to the car park where the draw took place ,i gave max a million the money for the draw and then he sneaked through to the front of the que without being noticed looking please with himself after TK had said it was a FLIER !!but walking away realized everyone had drawn fliers kiit loaded the kitchen sink and all [like i said all Max's is stuff ] off we went as we walked we couldn't see any pegs just yellow dandelions that were bigger than the peg numbers well we must of walked 150 yards before i realized the numbers were going up instead of down ::) ::) ::)and then with Max saying i told you so Derriere ,so as we walked back bill had stopped at 13 unlucky for some but not bill NEVER LOST AT WEMBLEY fish were topping in his peg as i left i thought here comes a bread weight as that was the only bait he had
bills peg before he decorated the reeds with his floats
so off we went only another 10 pegs to go ::) ::) when we arrived i thought at least we are out the main wind
but aleast it was moving down the canal towards herdie on the end peg still it covered the last three pegs of the match .but to be fare it did let us fish from time to time
top bloke banter all day to my left
to my right again top blokes herbie in the distance
being the first time out for a while the kit was just the same all over the place ::) i did keep telling max to keep his stuff tidy ::)
the days fishing went well i decided not to G/B instead i cupped 3 pots of hemp in [the idea of that was i'd walked far enough so i didn't want to carry it back ] it worked well and had loads of fish over it roach rudd bottle tops and perch .
my plan was to feed a tench line left and right but instead i feed 2 lines to the right as i had some good cover
well as the match went on the good looking chap to my right hooked and landed a tench and within 10 minutes another bye this time i'd got myself about 4lb and knew he was beating me so it was a waste of time fishing for bits
so it was tench or bust i feed regularly with caster and a little chopped worm so when i went on it i wasn't surprised it buried BUT!!!
it was a small perch
suddenly the good looking chap on my left caught a tench then i was getting it both sides as soon as he had landed that fish the good looking chap on my right was standing up looking like he was playing the flute but this time it came off bye this time herbie couldn't fish his peg so he came and stood with me talking about more subjects than anyone i know his knowledge is second to none top bloke
anyway going into the last five minutes i made a brave statement to herdie i said
last year this was about the time i had my tench its all about bottle
and with 10 seconds to go kur-ching it buried well you should of seen herbies face
top day and thanks to everyone these sort of days makes fishing all the better great crowd of lads and a great website and max loved it even though we had to stop at burger king on the way home
a special thank to sims !!
braking the record for eating the most burgers and hot dogs
last count 7!!!

Not True Shame the sun messed it up a bitand thank goodness I avoided me pic being taken !
So we have nearly tempted you out of retirement thenIt makes me realise what I'm missing and want to get back into it
Great write-up and piccies Joff. I had 7 burgers and 2 hotdogs But in my defence TK did force them on me as they were going to be thrown away if no one ate them

A report and photos from Joff.
Quality, but strangely no mention of fish dropping off as they were swung in.

as usual on TK,S matches i enjoyed the match and the company always first class. thank you tony for a cracking day only sorry we had to dash of, dan had to be home by 8pm ( girls i think you remember being 18 tony ) the reeds didnt make any difference to my day i fished like a plonker as normal. as for joff i swear as the float went under and the elastic appeared out of his top the hooter went. only taggert gets that kind of luck dont he dodger . meeting bill was brilliant best stoke supporter ive known, we decided to celibrate stoke,s cup final win with a barbeque on dodgers doorstep next sunday as for simple well done mate its nice to see you with some cash after all this time ( last pick up was pay'd in ten bob notes) . larry was unlucky as usual top man is larry . its always a pleasure to see his smiley face once again T.K. thank you
