Glad I aint...........it's rained all day and certainly daint feel like 5c  - whatsomore I cant see what I'm doing under a brolly - absolutlely hate it

I've been running a grueller series since the mid 80's.......


Like Bill, never ever called a match off before in all that time......not that I can recollect anyway


Mind to be honest, other than last winter I can probably count on one hand the number of times we've been confronted with ice - but even 4-5 inches of ice last winter didnt stop us


Perhaps fishing the Kidney Pond and Inlet/Outlet more recently for several seasons 'spoiled us' as a number had never broken the ice until 2 seasons ago..........


I looked yesterday at the cut in the Marina at Walsall - at first I thought it was defrosting...........till I got close up. It was still froze - it was water sitting on the ice in places that gave the impression it was thawing.


There was even a Tesco trolly sitting on the top in the middle

I had a bit of a ring around on Fri...........a few couldnt make this Sat (18th) because of other commitments and several thought with freezing temperatures forecast again for next week that it would be futile - including myself - I obviously appear to have gone down with a bout of Joffyiitus which seems to be highly infectious at the moment.

So Grueller match 6 is knocked on the head too
