OK - breakfast is sorted and will be from 7:30 at the Anchor Hotel, 32 High Street, Great Wakering, Essex, SS3 0EF. There is plenty of parking round the back and it's only another 2-3 minutes drive to the lake. I'll probably have a fish there the week after next and let you know how I got on.

Still 3 1/2 weeks to go to this match and we appear to be organised already.

Tony will be looking after the money and draw.
Graham is the local expert so he can do the pegging.
Colin will be bringing all the weigh gear and paper work.

Note for Terry--- Could you bring you pegs along with you as its unclear if the pegs are well numbered.

Mugger has been made a moderator until I come back so dont upset him as he has been known to ban people just for the sake of it. Image Image

If anyone has any problems after the 10th then ring Peter or Tony. If you need their phone numbers then contact me.

Thanks for booking the Anchor for brekkie Graham - I'll aim to get there by/before 8.

Dave - as its a 70 peg lake I guess we dont have all of it? Any idea how many pegs will we be allocated and where they will be? Do you get a say in this?

Well done Dave and Graham 2 and a bit weeks to go and all sorted must be a record.

Shame that with 18/19 attending we can't have Lilly Pad Lake looks the Nuts (or can we). Image Image Image

Tony,

We have been allocated pegs 6-39. The lake is rectangular in shape and these pegs run from the north east corner to the south west corner. Although I've never fished a match here I'm pretty sure these are the pegs usually allocated.

Kev,

I fished the Lily Pad lake once - didn't really have time to catch much cos as soon as I was set up I got a phone call from the missus telling me that our daughter had dislocated her kneecap and needed running to the local A&E Dept! Anyway, I digress, the point I wish to make is that with 18/19 of us fishing and a max. of 19 pegs some are bound to be a little overgrown/awkward to fish or very close together. I seem to remember that this water is quite small - perhaps if there were say 10 of us then it could have been an option, but with nearly double that figure I feel we are better off where we are.

Graham.

No problem you are the man in the know.

Never having been to the venue the pictures on the website never show the whole story.

On a seperate note hows the boat.

Thanks for the peg info Graham. With 34 pegs in, with any luck we should all have a bit of space - still like Dave said the pegging's down to you - and no doubt you will get some able assistance from a few of the team if you want it.

If you peg 2 and miss one peg2 miss one that will give you 23 pegs so you could use alternate pegs round the corners. I find it better to only put in the exact number of pegs required. You can guarantee that if you have too many pegs in that the ones not drawn are together resulting in a large gap which the fish migrate to as its quieter.

Dont forget to keep 4 or 5 of the close pegs out for Kevin and Rod to draw from first and then put the rest back in for everyone else to draw. Image
