What more do you want - I used to fish Sneyd Ressa all day when I was a kid and if I had four roach I'd bagged up

go there now, make yourself a clearing/ peg (as there arent any anymore) and youll get roach to 2lb and tench to 8lb Image

yes tk the one on veron way. No one owns it and very very few people fish it. its totaly over grown and the odd person who does fish it as to cut the reeds, grass ect back to make a peg. ive seen roach 2lb plus come out and know of tench over 8lb coming out, Its a shame how a good natrual venue containing quality fish as been left to rot away

Perhaps I'll make a few enquiries about taking it on  Image

Used to live on there when I was a kid - Walsall & District AA used to control it 40-45 years ago - a season ticket was 10/- (that's 10 bob SS  ;)) all those years ago !!!

Brings back a few memories over there - when I later started consuming ale in the original Sneyd Inn (before they knocked it down and built that replacement and filled in the derelict cut to make Vernon Way), a pint was 12p, so you could have a gallon and a bag of chips off the green van on the way home for a quid  Image

Suspect the only problem with taking it on would be vandalised cars.............

Vandalised cars wouldn't have been a problem as far back as you are going.....probably more chance of someone nicking the horse from the fron to the chariot Image
How much was a car back then TK....£10 3s 6d ?? Image

Your right - 50 odd houses in our street and there was only two people who owned cars for the first part of my youth - my dad had one and the other was a guy down the bottom with something like off Al Capone complete with running boards   :D

I bet you would remember them chariots too,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :P

the green chip vans are still around but the only difference is they have new vans now.The chip are still brilliant off them tho and cost a quid now adays.

The ressa isn't in the best place as the kids play over there and you'd get 2 ton of hassle off them. When ever any one fishes it the take the minimum IE rod already set up and no box or spare tackle etc. The one thing you don't have to worry about is your car getting vandalised as the will just nick the car instead >:(

tk i can take you to loads of waters around bloxwich, walsall, brownhills ect that are crammed full of decent sized fish inc roach and other silver that no one owns or leases. The simple reason is problems with kids, security of anglers, tackle and vehicles. I know one that is packed with silvers, crucians and as a white ghostie that is supposed to weigh 15lb in pelsall but since they built a housing est near it you get kids swimming in the lake when ever its warm
