Just a thought, have you considered running the dates on Saturdays instead?

Be a good idea for next year that... Its hard to get a good sat match in the winter that will solve a problem keen match anglers have trying find one to fish on a sat. But you might upset the "i only fish on a sun" anglers?

you need more than one match organisers Queenie running matches both days is a nightmare ask bill about the national you just don't know what day it is

and bill had some top helpers

the same thing will happen in september if these teams get through to the final you need practice and we have to put up with that but you can't just change dates when they have been posted for weeks before hand

Hi Joff,

There is a pairs league running after christmas.

10th Jan, then every other week until then.

So dates are:
10th Jan,
24th Jan,
7th Feb,
21st Feb,
7th March.

14th March Winter League Semi final.

Think the organiser is gonna let them be fished as opens too, but not sure.

No other matches planned. But I will probably organise an open for 28th Feb, so people can get on it for the semi.

First hand info !

They are baggin up at 6m ballin in g/b with joker ..... single bloodworm on a 20s hook, 1 gram rigs no fookin about, all 1oz to 3oz roach with a few reaching 6oz, a back up line at 13 mtrs again give em 8 balls ! 10lb was last in section the other week !

Come the semi .......

Yers all be fishin for wasps over raw

Hughesy has won 2 out of the 3 matches on there endbloke

It aint going to happen.

The teams of three pays the rent on the canals, without it there is not an HanKat Angling society.

I have never run matches to make a profit hence the reason why I only have 4 matches a year on each venue so the matches I run are important to keep the club alive....

I consulted as many people as I could before deciding on dates for this years event

Perhaps this is the excuse I need to stop running matches.

Dont take the easy option and be a quitter Lee. Too many of those about. Everyone Ive talked to has been construictive and I dont think anyone has moaned. You do a good job and simply cant please everyone. Its just a shame you'll probably lose a few teams on your league due to semi final committments. Its been like this for years and most leagues suffer with it after Xmas. This is the first time Ive known it affect yours though mate...

I have a 25+ match every weekend near me..

TK runs some worm matches

Woodside run a good league

Bilston angling centre run matchs

Matches on Merry hill every other week.

I can just turn up every week and fish!...

Lewis...this is the last year of the teams of three.

Next year will be two individual leagues.

One will run EVERY Saturday from July to september will a final last saturday in September.

i love the teams of three.. but like your new thought about an individual league Lee just hope you don't get people dropping out half way through an messing it up.... but defo count me in!

the other will run EVERY Saturday from 1st October to a final on the last weekend of the joker season
