Obviously the likes of MGB (who is an active member of the restoration trust) is aware, but just wondered how many Cashmores members realised the intention to link the canal (at Fishley) upto the Staffs Worcs........at an est cost of £48m
If interested in learning more - take a peek here.........

When it comes to fruition Joffie, it'll certainly be interesting to note how the characteristics of the canal change over the years.
At the moment if we see a boat a week, that's about it - and they are dead rare in winter.........hence usually a gin clear cut
With the potential for increased traffic some of the vegetation will probably change given time too - less lilly pads etc
Not sure if you realised Joffie, but the link off to the Staffs Worcs is going to be where you were pegged on the forum match this year.........bang will go our current parking arrangements for that section.......but there again I'll have probably popped my clogs by the time it happens

On a wintery theme, here's a photo of Simps 'forum' peg taken 70 years ago...........looks like it was even colder that winter
(Dunno why photobucket has 'rotated' the picture?)

The canal certainly appears to be stirring from it’s winter slumbers today………
Had a report from Kulik Jnr (the bro) who went for a ride along it this afternoon.
He spoke to an angler fishing by Wood Lane Bridge
‘Any good mate?’
‘No’
Just then the guys float went and after a brief tussle, out came a tinca estimated about 2lb.
A few hundred yards away on his way back to Fishley, he also witnessed another angler catch and weigh a tinca that came in at 3lb 12oz

With it being a bostin day I had a wander down this afternoon myself, expecting a few to be out
Looked sock on with some colour in it
Only two chaps out, just to the left of Wood Lane, practising for a club match next month. One was doing aok - he'd had a bream about 2lb, plus a dozen 3-4oz skimmers all on the caster.

His mate was struggling a bit though, with just a few bits when i left
