your right lee , all the other teams have said that if we fish they wont , i wonder if they would have threatened not to fish if it had have been anyone else......................talk about being f.....d about.....
Yom right ..... cos they would of moaned like crappity smack if the match was smaller than it was supposed to be
To be fair we all know that if theres a decision to be made in match organising theres one million and one wrong decisions taht can be made and not a single right one !

I have slated Ken as much as anyone but i think he made the correct decision this time.
He offered the place to the third placed team in the TBF league, when they declined he put the other teams into the hat.
Swinno's team declined so Drennan were next out of the hat.

Congratulations to all you crappuity smackers that have driven yet another nail into the match fishing coffin.
I can say that with no bias whatsoever as I ain't fishing the AT semi-final.
There is only one loser with this and that is match fishing itself.
Even less turnouts now for cut matches; maybe that's what some want.

Bill.
The only people killing match fishing are the ones that bandit fish the league matches for one thing...MONEY..then when they have to play with the big boys out of their comfort zone they take their ball home!

People don't seem to realise that Drennan are not the team that caused the problem..
The team that fished a qualifier with no intention of fishing the semi are!

I am partial on this ........... its not Drennans fault or making
The team who pulled out should be banned from the competition.

Sorry gents. I don't understand.
On Sunday, the cream de la cream of angling teams will be fishing. All teams have practiced. The venue may not suit all. The draw will see off some and others may think that they can win on the day. I know how I have felt in the past!
Then a "random draw" has included a team that is good on the cut. If they do it on the day, regardless of history, then they deserve to go to the final. DNW did not ask for it and did not get special dispensation. It is by extra-ordinary circumstances. They can win and can also crash as we saw on the Warwickshire ATWL. So what!
My point is "Was the correct procedure taken to make up the teams?"
If there was a written procedure, then has it been followed? If this is a "first", then it sounds to me that (so long as someone can verify the process) Ken has done the best thing in his opinion and followed the fairest way he saw fit!
I think that any match organiser can understand what I am trying say. My option would be to talk to every team captain and get him to agree to one of a number of options that could be taken in such a short space of time. But I do not run the ATWL Semi's.
In the end, you and I leave ourselves wide open to this type of problem because we do not address problems until they happen!
I would be happy to fish against DNW. It's a challenge and that is what match fishing is about.
Good luck!

Nobody said it was Drennans fault, i fish against them nearly every week for 52 weeks of the year and enjoy fishing against them and consider them mates. I've always stated that i enjoy fishing against the best, but when asked to make a decision on behalf of the team the points that were put forward were:
2 teams from each league qualify for semi(only teams from tbf league should have been approached)
Did ken make anyone aware of what he was doing(no)
What is the right decision for our team
Where do these changes to the rules stop.
There would have been objections if the team coming in had have been shaky, trentmen or tipton if they hadn't qualified. In my opinion this situation should never have happened

Not what i was told and tipton never said they wouldn't fish, its not Dave Hughes or my place to pull a team out of a competition, as i said to ken when he asked me.
