As if you need any
Remember this Diddy
HanKat AS Three a side League, Round Four, Wyrley Essington Canal, Beechdale, Walsall, West Midlands, Sun. 51. Andy Billington (Drennan North West) 11-4-13, four bream, poled bloodworm, junction with the Walsall Canal; Ian Didcote (Garbolino) 4-13-6; Darren Lewis (Fox Tipton Van den Eynde Gold) 3-14-7; Mick Hatchard (Shakespeare Superteam) 3-13-3; Steve Dudley (HanKat AS) 3-12-5; Mark Oakley (Cashmores AC) 3-8-13.
Well we are 3-4 miles away on the same canal but ‘out in the sticks’.
Same sort of depths typically 4ft down the track, 5ft in places, generally 11 to 14 mtrs across
As I’ve said elsewhere, there’s no one magical bait - you just need to do like Billo on the result above and find the bream or the tincas which should show a lot more given the time of year.
The winner could quite conceivably be someone fishing ‘selective’ baits like corn or pellet (or even boilie like Simps) - but that would be sh!t or bust.
If going all or nowt, bread and worm would probably be a better bet
I’ve had a fair few tincas and bream in the past on more ‘conventional’ canal baits like punch, pinkie, big mag and caster.
Si Nickless had that net of bream in the picture on the punch that day last May

Not loads of weed. Theres a fair few lilly pads and sedges which can be a 'haven' for those tincas to dive into when hooked
Re the peggin - we'll be aok we've plenty of cut to go at plus Sprucey will be doing it (although I aint told him yet
)
