Seriously though, the mother in law was in the land army during the war

Not only did they till the land, man the factories, deliver the Spitfires to the airfields, they also skippered the narrowboats! They had the initials I.W. [Inland Waterways] on the overalls they were issued with and some wag christened them the Idle Women!

I find these posts very interesting, my mother who is still with us but in a home was conscripted into the Fire Service for the biggest part of the War - can you imagine what they had to deal with.

All we do is go fishing.

not every single mother joff, alot of mothers have family in the army, navy and raf,these mothers have served there time with the worry of loosing a loved one, whilst serving there country, its just the lazy ones that may want to take a look, and a lot of dads Image
