Feast or famine on the KA

#1

Unread post by chavey »

I fished the 5th round of the upper Thames winter league today on the K&A at Great Bedwyn ( the same venue as last years semi) In the practice match last week Fished in freezing conditions and bright sunlight on a gin clear canal,  of the 12 of my team who fished, only 3 caught, and 2 of those only had 1 fish each! Although it has been slightly warmer this week, we all thought it was going to be another gruler as the water clarity hadn't changed, and for many it was. But the frame weights were massive! as a skimmer and perch net of 40lb 3oz won with 34lb second  22lb third and 11lb second ( I cant remember the oz's on the final 3) I helped weigh in the 1st, 3rd and 4th weights as they were in the last 3 pegs in my section and the winner, Ben Bently of Browning andover had 3 perch for 10lb in his net! The rest being bream and skimmers on either bread punch or worm.
As for me I managed a massive 4lb 12oz for a triple defaulted section win! ha ha
The final match is going to be interesting next week on the Bristol Avon at Melksham and Chippenham as, my team, Garbolino Blackmore vale, Daiwa Gordon League and Devizes match group all have 13 points, making it winner take all!
