Interesting point there Joffie - some big matches won with comparatively low weights, compared to 'expectations' today
Bill raised the same subject having a pint after the SMF cut match.
Whereas I'm of the opinion that the cuts (that I know) have never fished as well as they are doing now, sadly the majority of a generation now doesnt seem satisfied with say 5lb of silvers. Even double figures isnt enough for some. It's gorra be haul em in, haul em in :(
Seems to be getting to the stage where where a 'ton' is expected or the venue is described by some as crap, a cess pit etc.
How long before that 'ton' expectation becomes more????
In my eyes I seriously think that some have lost sight of the values and what angling should be about, what satisfaction and pleasure can be gained even when you aint 'sacking'. There's so much more to angling than 'trawling'...........
