first round of the soar valley winter league got off to a great start ,with some quick thinking from the match organiser Brian hull was the river had changed over night and ruled out one or two of the sections being used.seven teams of 10 anglers and perhaps one of the biggest leagues to be held on a natural venue the river soar ,from barrow to kegworth the competition stretched .inform Leicester sensas angler Pete scott made the most of a good draw and kept up with his winning streak Pete has won 4 out of his last 5 matches a record to be proud of by any standards.Pete fished 13metres with G/B over chopped worm and caster to catch from the off skimmers and good size roach for a total of 9kg 310grms pete fished at the sutton lane end section of the river.2nd Martin halford Garbolino linc's county a new team that had joined the league this year Martin had drawn next to Pete scott and caught similar fish for 7kg 650grm.3rd on the day Pete jayes Wigston A S pete fished his favourite baits chopped worm and caster and then hemp seed to finish with 7kg
being the first round every team wanted a good start to the league and with seven teams in the league it will always be close ,Martrix dynamite Trentmen took top honours with a great team performance and a total of 29 points on the day closely followed by Leicester sensas on 34 points in 3rd place Quorn AS on 35 points
