Hi squatt head, fish it,it's well worth it, the b&j anglers did not have it all there own way last year, worm and caster caught plenty of skimmers
Rigs, .6 .8 and heavier if needed, the fish feed anything from 3 inches off the bottom, to a couple of inches laid on so it's worth settin a few top sections up, the depths are more or less the same at 7 mts and 13 mts, the depth varies from 7 foot to 8ft ish depending on where you draw Wykewell area are the deeper pegs

Its solid, in the past rigs have been used up to 2gram fishing to hand for weights to 20lb, though as the last post states it wasn't dominated by bloodworm in this way last year. Another good method last year was hemp, 4x14 to 4x18 rigs fished well over 14.5m on most pegs, weights around 14/16lb were framing. It is all dependant on the skimmers and roach comming in to the town for the winter. 5 years ago matches were won on a regular basis with 5lb but since then the last 4 winters its been exceptional with an average catch throughout the whole length being over 10lb for the last 2 years.
Just cant get a draw :facepalm :facepalm

As has already been said , skimmers have shown more the last couple of winters with quite a few anglers getting maggot , caster and worm over g/b to work Image , wykewell end a bit deeper than the other sections , west street very peggy , 8 to 10 pegs on Stannilands absolutely solid if its in Image Image ;) . First year in a long time i didnt fish it last winter ....... fabulous venue Image Image

ps lots of fish short especially if it has colour and windy ;)

Plenty of fish from SOME sections short on b&j especially when its windy (6 mtrs) ;) Image

12 / 13 mtr line usual main line Image and 14 / 14.5 for caster or worm / caster . Some of the bites on caster can drive you crackers , unhitable proper sailaways Image a lighter rig deffo can work better for the caster.

Something else ...... a lot of the barnsley lads used to start on a bread line for dumpy roach , doesnt always work though. Thats the beauty of the venue , lots of different methods work , always fish to your strengths Image
