Worst fishing injury
in 1991 I was fly fishing on a boat on Ladybower ( close season then) My mate on the other end of the boat to me was casting merrily away when he shouted " I'm caught up on something!!!" " it's me you t**t!!! " i shouted back and his lure was stuck in my head!!!!!
I had to go to Sheffield General to get it removed and they had to send to the maintenance dep't for some cutters to cut the barb off to get it out.
had 4 stiches in my head, didn't half hurt!!!!!!

Just finished fishing a match on the Soho Loop, had a can of apple juice by my side, took a swig and spat it out, then a swig to drink, that is when I felt the buzzing followed by pain, brushed the wasp off my tongue, ran to the next peg in a panic and the guy held my tongue as he pulled half a wasp out of it, then the swelling and shock kicked in.
Have not drank from a can since, only bottles now.
