Salt Pit Lake, Salt Pit Lane, Mawdsley, Lancashire
Hi all, this weekend i fished a day ticket lake called Salt Pit Lake in Mawdsley Lancashire, its a hidden lake down a road called Salt Pit Lane, i started out at about 7 am with a bag of pellets, at about 7:15 i had a screaming take across this gem of a lake and when i lifted into it i knew the game was on, in 25 years i have never had a carp fight so hard!
it took me 20 minutes to land it, it was a beautiful fully scaled mirror carp i wish i had taken a photo, but i wanted to share this hidden lake because it was empty and quiet, the manager that walked round told us to be careful because there where some serious size carp beauties in this water that had never been caught. We where skeptical until i had a line break at 18lb! i highly recommend you guys take a look at this place its awesome!
