Well as last years winning weight was only 196 lb in September I thought making it July this year may improve weights significantly.

Im still trying to sort out an early match with Morefax at Hartleylands Nicks plus am awaiting return calls from Mill barn and Cuton Lakes.
I have decided to bite the bullet and try Cuton Lakes and pray that the road noise doesnt spoil it. Simon says its not a problem but as he can turn his hearing aids down Im not sure we should take any notice of him.

Question for you all. Hartleylands in September / October.
Reservoir or Nicks.????? My view is that as we may fish Nicks with Morefax then we should try the Res again.

So venues Im looking to book still are
Hartleylands
Mill Barn
Cuton Lakes/Southend Farm
Rayne
Shannons
plus a Morefax match at Hartleylands.

Also wondering if Keith will be doing a midweek day at Alders?

Dave, I would love it to be on the Res, but you need to speak to Hartleylands ASAP as I've heard that The Reservoir may not be available for matches much longer. Evidently they are considering making it 'carpers' only.

Oi Mr C...that's kinda deafist that!!...funnily enough I was there Monday and actually noticed the noise...mainly due to the pike not wanting to play!!....and to make it worse a carper on the other speci lake had two f'''in' pike on maggot!!!

One bonus of the traffic noise at Cuton Lakes....... It might drown out the noise of Als singing.

Need your opinions urgently.

Mill Barn no longer take bookings on the Reservoir. We can still fish it as a match but we cannot have a number of reserved pegs nand wouild have to pay the £10 day ticket each rather than the £8 reduced fee like last year. We could either peg round any day ticket guys and risk someone turning up and sitting in the pegged swims after we peg it. Or we can do it as a walk off match and fish whatever free pegs you decide.

The other option is to book the 38 peg canal lake. Graham has offered a reasonable deal on this lake.

Personally I dont like snake/canal lakes but would like your thoughts ASAP.

To be honest I've only fished the Canal once and that was last year about February time. I was only there for about an hour as I had to give up as my back went into spasm (a throwback from when I prolapsed a disc in 2009). However, for that hour the fish were biting from the off - no carp, only silvers though. I believe there is quite a head of quality bream in there which, as I have touched on before, would make a change from the usual carp bashing. I for one would be quite happy to try the Canal. It would have 2 slight advantages over the resevoir in that the water level should not drop much as it's not used for crop irrigation and there is more parking space there. If not have you considered Puddledock near Upminster. It has the advantage of being right on the M25 and only a few miles from the Dartford Crossing?

Private Lake should be a definate in my opinion.

Puddledock is a venue i have not fished but heard good reports from.
