What's the access like, parking etc. ( I only ask cos I'm really struggling with my back and can't manage long walks.( no comments please Joff )
I remember we used to fish matches there over 20 years ago, used to be good( and interesting dodging golf balls!!)

Access is still the same Crafty - still that drive through the course down to the car park by the side of the river opposite the lower end of the sunken gardens
You'll remember it was 'level and flat' walking - spose it just depends what the turnouts like how far they go upstream.
We've got it booked for a club match later this year - not fished it myself for a fair few years, but those 'short walk' pegs near the car park used to be aok - unless its all changed

Speaking to Kingfisher and Ted in Burton Angling this morning, they said there's a lot there where you can park behind your peg.
Gonna have a go I think.
I did also hear, can't remember who told me though, that someone was going to run some matches on the Cuttle Brook section of the Burton Mutual water at Swarkestone.
Anyone heard if that's true.

what methods/species/baits likely to come into play on these matches just interested as may be able to make a few of these matches and would like to know in regards getting tacked up many thanks

Be interested to hear what the cracks tell you Manny, perhaps I could gleam a tip or two from them..........could do with it - they'll probably know each peg inside out, whereas we visit once in a blue moon
For what it's worth I predominantly use bronze with a handful of reds thrown in as a change bait fished over the seed. Having said that, Cotti who fishes with us only ever uses caster.......
For me it's whip (4 - 6mtr) hand to line backed up with stick and wag if I cant find them close in/within range. Occasionally I'll pole it or fish that hand to line if stampers start showing proving a bit too powerful for the whip
Have a gander here......aok it's downstream to the B M waters, but similar (at least it was)
