Well went on the old train great way to get to your peg fall off the train right on to the staging no long walks Image Image Image

Weather was a bit overcast and quite muggy but hardly a ripple on the pool so i managed to draw peg 4 and then told by the lady who runs the trains thats been winning everymatch Image

Nothing like adding a bit of extra pressure is there Image
Plumbed up no depth at all 6mtrs out about 20 inches of water Image first thought was this could be another TK Image

Started off at 6mtrs which we had all agreed on as you aint allowed to put your pole across the track (it might get cut off ) Image Image Image Image
out went some 4mm pellets and chucked some corn down the two sides first 30 minutes a couple of small touches but no fish even thou there appeared to be plenty of small stuff mooching around
After roughly half hour tried three red maggots over the pellet straight away a small perch then another then another etc Image Image
Finally a small carp about 12 ozs went into the net then a cracking rudd over a pound easily things where looking up Image Image

Then quiet again so tried down the side with corn nothing but if i put maggots on small roach and perch so thought go for silvers as no one seemed to be catching

Tried a quick change of bait corn over where i'd been loose feeding maggots whooooooooooooosh away we went nice carp followed by a ghostie about 4lbs we where motoring Image Image
Anyway end of match weighed in just under 26lb which on the day gave me the win by about 4 lbs Image

Then waited for the train to come and fetch me Image Image
Overall even thou the fishing was a bit slow a thouroughly enjoyable day out with the lads from Hawkins AC thx fella's Image

Sounds like a potential Cashmores venue for next year if you can drop off the "walking wounded" at their pegs :D

i put a grueller on there a few years back MrV, but didnt tell anyone 'where it was'............just told everyone to meet up at the Hollybush as we had to 'go in convoy' to the fishery

(I did tell them it was a private pool/mixed fishery)

As the guys all arrived, expecting to drive elsewhere, I got the gear out and told them to follow suit and head in the direction of the railway.

The railway hadn't actually opened when we and it was all I could do to keep my face straight............particularly as I had to tell a pork pie or two whilst waiting when I was being quized 'well where's this pool?' as I replied pointing in the distance 'it's a couple of fields over there, the farmer will take us there'.........

And then Cotti came out with what was a corker..........if you had been there to hear it'

'Wouldnt it be a laff if we had to go there on this minature railway'  Image Image Image

5 mins later.............all was revealed as the guy running the train turned up - there was a gob smacked angler or two there that morning........

And what a laff  Image with a dozen burley blokes and all their gear stacked in the carriages of that minature railway............especially when we went through the tunnel  Image Image Image
