Started the day off at my girlfriends house who lives litrally on the back of coseley canal.. woke up about 7:45.. was setup and fishing at about 8 o'clock.. wasent expecting a haul and this is first time ive ever fished it properly..

Gear today was a 4m TELESCOPIC whip which i have elasticated with no4 elastic in.. 4x12 float.. PR32 size 20 hook, and 0.10 silstar straight through.. shotting pattern was 'shirt button' style.

Started by balling in a 'small orange' of liccy bread which i did last night.. just a rough job, wasent really fine or nothing.. just 1 blast and complete.. put my float over the top of it..

Image

Phone starts ringing.. whilst struck into i caught a little roach.. next thing the elastic just tares down the canal.. a little pike on the gew'

At this point im excited as ive never caught a pike.. but i lost it @ the net! Image But i got my roach back Image

From then on.. it was fish a chuck on the bread.. Roach only.. of all sizes, from 1oz proberly up to my biggest which was proberly just over a 1lb..

Image

Day just got better and in the end i just got bored of catching.. Decided to pack up and share the news with young joe who unfortunatly didnt make an apperance today as his bed was too cosy? Image

My net for today;

Estimated just over 100 fish Image

Pretty good weight, guessing would be 7-8lb! Image

Proberly the best time ive had on a canal yet..

So i get home.. share the news, and young joes wanting to go now! :o

So we get back down their for 3 o'clock,,

Same again all over - AMAZING.. this time the net was bigger and we shared one haha! Image :D

Get yourself on TK grueller matches in the winter your bread fishing could come in handy.

Maybe you could show dead peg how to do it Image

Well done Josh, nice net of fish mate Image Question for you though........why elasticate a whip :-? Sure you have a reason for doing it, and it obviously worked for you, but why not use your elasticated top 3 or something fished to hand. I couldnt elasticate my whips as the tips are probably less than a millimetre thick. :-/

And i did it so if i did hook something bigger i could play it without having the risk of snapping the whip/line.. its elasticated just in the top part of whip as its telescopic haha!
