It was good Joff, Barca are like that all the time ( apart from when Mascherano playes cos he's not up to it)
Arsenal are probably the only English team who could take on them in a footballing sense. Man U might have a chance of beating them by stopping them play, the rest forget it.
I must admit to being a bit like, was it Bentner who says the only football he watches is Barca. ( I do watch Derby cos they're my team. I know they're sh*te but you have to don't you lol) All the english leagues are garbage, just in varying levels.

come on taffy prem teams reguarly stuff spanish and italian teams , there not that good, well not as good as people would have you believe. thats twice the so called best team in the world have failed to beat arsenal, spurs smashed the italian leaders. most teams that play arsenal look good because of arsenals style of open play. aldershot would look good if they passed the ball sideways 800 times in 90 minutes. Image barcelona,s away record in europe played 8 won 0 drew 5 lost 3. hardly world beaters as inter showed you last year Image

thats the trouble with arsenal they play lovely football a lot of the time and would seat nicely in the Spanish league and would around the top of the table
but arsenal in the premiership are a differant kettle of fish teams that have stopped them playing have often win whether its long balls, throw in or free kicks

For me in the second half Arsenal believed they could take Barca on and they did to great effect , real quality attacking football from both sides great to watch ....both defences always look suspect under pressure and Barca,s keeper is very suspect to say the least. La Liga is one of the poorest leagues in europe ....take Madrid and Barcelona out of it and it is probably on a par with the Scottish premier league. The English Premier league IS the strongest league in europe by a mile , Spurs , Arsenal , Chelsea and Man Utd going great guns in the champions league proves this ....... Barcelona are a fantastic team and play proper football but dont get carried away with all the hype that comes with them , Arsenal did brilliant last night and it would be great for English football if they got a draw or even better in Barcelona ..... credit to Wenger top top manager even if he is a moaning  crunt  Image  Image

True, I'd agree about most of the italian and Spanish teams, and a lot of their football is as boring as ours, but take out the top few teams in the prem league and I'd say the same about us.
It's just nice to see a team trying to play the game properly, maybe I'm biassed as I love football played the Brazil way or the old Dutch total football.
I used to watch all English football on tv religiously, whatever the level, but now I find it so boring and start watching a match, but rarely finish. It just doesn't seem the same to me. Perhaps years ago you used to know all the players, most of them were British, now you can't really relate to it somewhow ( Either that or I'm just gettin owd!!lol)

I still think Man U and Arsenal are the only 2 English teams who could beat Barca at this point in time.
It's funny, I said to a mate of mine last night before the game that Barcalona don't travel well in Europe although if Messi goal had stood as it should who knows the outcome.

Defences are iffy Dodge, but you should see Derby's, now that is a dodgy defence.

i would say if barca were to play anywhere but spain they would have to change there style of play. inter proved that last year. man city would give them a run cos bobby sets them up like an italian team. spurs would win at least 1 game out of 2 against them, so would chelski. they looked world class for 60 minutes, but the game lasts for 92 or 98 if taggert is watching Image Image Image

yes if messi's goal had stood it would of been a different out come for sure Image if's and buts and why's and whens after the match can't change the resultand thats why we love the game
i remember watching leicester V arsenal in the cup a few years back cracking game and i'm sure it was 3-2 to arsenal with minutes left when Mashell the slowest forward i'd ever seen scored two goals in two minutes to win the game
