Its been some time since ive fished this cracking Canal, and saw this great result
The opening round of this 5 match series returned excellent weights from the straight and the famous Hempstead bend with large bream, skimmers, eels and roach feeding freely to all methods.Sensas Thyers angler Roy Carter showed his expirence and in depth knowledge of the venue in a very tight frame . Yes, the Gloucester Canal!
remember going there years back and I drew this very wide peg with abig tree/bush semi submerged in the cut on the far bank. There were chub crashing out all over the place by this bush.
What do you do? I set up three feeder rigs and was waitingfor the all in and these chub were stil rolling and crashing out. One or two came down to have a look at them in amazement.
It was only after one of them commented that the penny dropped with me. It was a pole qualifier, - I blanked.
