First letter I opened in all the post that's piled up over the week was the 'comfirmatory' entry from SSDC - plus importantly the individual forms I have to complete for each of our team members......................
Please note - a bacon on toast on Sat is suffice to secure a place in the Wyrley W****r's team

Been up and had a walk round, it seems a few people had the same thing in mind today.
Malc from Goodyear club was up there to and was surprised to see me there
We are on the first 2 pools and the average depth is 3 foot
It was stocked in may with 3500 small common and mirror carp.
The pegs ain't very good, uneven banks and slabs 2 foot away from the water. One peg was a pallet lying across some squashed down reeds
There's some narrow pegs on the first pool that look like snag heaven, hope you don't draw any of these TK with your 8oz bottoms lol.
I'm getting there extra early as car parking will be a problem I think.
The bailiff and some other anglers up there said there are some big lumps in there also. Along with big bream and tench.
With the depth at 3 foot pretty much all over the whole pool it will be a interesting venue to fish, I'm certainly gonna pack my wag rod in the car :)
Only catmeat is banned from what I can read on the board up there.
Top baits... bread, meat and corn. Pellets are allowed too.
Malc said there's 8 teams booked in, so that's 32 anglers, its gonna be tight round the 2 pools I think
Looks like a lovely place though, looking forward to it

According to my 0.06 lines, its 1lb 4oz - beastie stuff.
I've chucked my 8oz stuff away - you really did need to net everything over 2oz with that stuff or you'd crack off swinging fish in
It'll be a grueller anyway once our team turn up - and 0.06 lines could be critical...........and they'll easily handle them pastie carp caught on slop & squatt

Hmmm... I wonder.
When I was there yesterday a old guy rolls up in his car get out and comes over to us.
He says "I hope its like this on Sunday because I'm fishing the parish match, how do you think we will do"
One of the guys I'm standing with says "You don't stand a chance of winning"
The old guy looks offended and says "whys that then" he looked like this >>
The other guy says " Because the match is on Saturday and please come on Sunday so we have more chance of winning"
LOL, maybe it was one of your ill informed team members Tony :D

Hmmmmm..............now I wander
Couple of years it was on a Sunday..........did I just associate the day (I knew it was the 23rd but hadn't checked out what day) or did the guy at the council make reference to a Sunday
Don't think it was a Gt Wyrley W*****r team member - if so Zorro,Heinzer, Yamo and HaHa will be upset at the 'old guy' reference
