Holiday excursions

I have just been looking up the available excursions for our holiday and one stands out above the normal tours and beach things.

One of our stops is Port Canaveral is not too far from the Kennedy Space centre and for £140 I could have a go at Astronaut Training Experience. Would you spend that sort of money for 6 hours of this

" Prepare for take-off as you are launched into the NASA astronaut training experience. .If you’ve ever imagined yourself at the controls of a space shuttle or wondered how the pilots prepare for a Kennedy Space Centre launch, now is your chance to try out the training simulators and speak to a veteran astronaut.

The astronaut training experience (ATX) program has been designed by NASA astronauts to give you hands on training and ensure you are prepared for the challenges of a spaceflight. Led by space flight experts you’ll take the controls of the motion based Spaceflight Simulator and the full scale Space Shuttle Mission Simulator. At the mission briefing enjoy a question and answer session with one of the veteran NASA astronauts. Do you have the nerve for a mission impossible?

Enjoy 1 hours’ free time to explore the Astronaut Hall of Fame. See the human side of space exploration with the largest collection of astronaut personal memorabilia and artifacts, remarkable displays, exhibits and tributes dedicated to the heroes.

During your mission a light snack and beverages will be served. Each trainee will receive a mission polo shirt as a souvenir."

There will be plenty of time for sunbathing Dodge. The getting p!ssed is already booked in for New Years Eve which will be spent visiting a number of establishments on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
