well what do you think its going to be like last sunday on my way back from a wedding i called in at hamm's bridge on the trent i think there was about 100 on the match but i only walked to the left of hamm's bridge the first two sections were being won with a couple of perch some top anglers as well no one had caught a bream off the bream pegs and no roach were showing in the 40 pegs i walked untill i got to the thickit and past that most could catch small roach in fact the winnner came from this section 15 odd pounds i did speak to a few anglers and all said they didn't think the match would go down that far come on i'd rather fish there then around the hamm's bridge it was really crap there
i could as well bill if i could draw that peg a number of thing would happen
1 someone would of camped out all night on it
2 I'd get there and it would be in full flood
3 a boat would be stuck in the peg after coming over the weir
4 a body in the peg and CSI teams are investigating
5 a bloody plain crashes into the weir
i'd still take it though

Richie, knowing the Trent as we did all those years go I would have to be desperate to contemplate it now.
Matches our way are won with less than what used to win the worse sections!
( and I couldn't carry my gear where we used to fish now, I wouldn't get half way to the white house bend )
