Seeing as I aint got owt to do today, I will start the post off and maybe it will prompt TK to get the results up
First I would like to say what a lovely couple of pools! Unlike the other "holes in the ground" on the site which looked lie a moonscape, our 2 pools were quite stunning, trees all around, with a "dam" separating the pools.
My draw put me on 19, which on arrival looked nice. Having overheard one of the staff on site telling Ha Ha that there was 4 feet depth accross the whole pool, I set up a rig and dropped it in to plumb, finding a maximum anywhere in the peg of 2 feet
Ah well. Chenge rigs and set my stall out to fish 3 methods, Caster shallow, Pellet and paste, and corn.
3x 1oz Rudd in the first 20 minutes didnt fill me with confidence :(
A look on the pellet saw a 4oz skimmer in the net, then nothing. Tried the paste in 3 different areas...nothing. Flirted a few grains of corn up to the island and tried it after 10 minutes...a 3 oz roach.
An hour in and Plan B was now initiated. Forget the carp which are supposed to live here and fish for anything that swam by.
2 hours in and I think I was on plan P,Q or R.
Anyway, managed to snare a few fish on plan Z, the ever reliant choppie
Wont disclose any weights, but will say I really enjoyed the match and the venue. Had to work hard for what I caught, and felt I had a decent match. ::)
Unfortunately for the lads who were expecting a pool full of tame, hand fed carp, and 100lb bags, it wasnt to be on these pools, as they are completely natural and not stocked with F1's. However, I found it a great challenge which would reward anyone who "sussed it out"
Over to you for the results TK

Maxi mum 2 feet ....Like the caster 'SHALLOW' bit :P
I popped down in the week, a few weeks ago to check the place out but didnt stay. I must have seen the 'moonscape' pools.
Workmen were working on the new building and blasting music out. It wasnt what I had in mind at the time so I didnt look much further.
Sounds like nice pools though.

Interesting introductory post that MrV - anybody could think I’d ‘put you up’ to post those thoughts, because they echo my sentiments……
In fact, having been pilloried on Saturday by a small vocal minority regarding the venue because it wasn’t throwing up ‘megga weights’ (and forthcoming matches on 'natural venues) - it set me thinking……….
So before I pen the results I’ll put my Max Bygraves hat on because ‘I wanna tell you a story………’
Are you sitting comfortably, then I’ll begin………..
A couple of years back, as well as the winter grueller series, I used to do a few knock ups during the summer months to ‘keep us ticking over’
Now one of the venues was a small private pool ………… ………
To be honest thinking back we used to really have more on the pool than it could probably stand , but there were no moans, it really was ‘loved’ by all…………..
Saturdays venue was very similar to this private pool, both aesthetically and with the results from it. Our matches on this pool, and we had quite a few, were absolutely nowt to write home about………I think we probably only ever had a couple of low 20lb winning weights, generally the winning weights were around the 10 - 12lb mark…………and usually off the same couple of ‘favoured’ pegs.
There are some photos of this venue that I posted somewhere on these forums that attracted a comment from Simps and ME that it looked ‘nice’ – perhaps if you have a dig around you might come across them……
Anyway, so we experienced ‘low weights’, ‘tight pegging’ but a regular turnouts by the same individuals…………..without the moans (apart from who’s drawn a flyer again) - unlike Saturday. People used to look forward to going every time I booked the place……….how times and attitudes have changed…………… :(
Back to this Saturdays match.
Before revealing who did what from where, firstly I’d like to thank Geoff E……….
for not weighing in
It saved me from coming last
Not a lot was known about the venue - I certainly didn’t know what the cock pegs were………they all looked nice - most if not all (with the exception possibly of MGB) having a ‘feature to go at.
The fisheries web site stated’ The pools are very well established and present mature naturalised surroundings, supporting a wealth of wildlife including water birds, frogs, toads, newts and even grass snakes.
Fish stocks are varied, with Carp to over 20lbs, Tench, Bream, Crucian Carp, Roach and Rudd to over 1.5lbs, chub, large perch, eels and the occasional brown trout !
Most baits work well, with pellets, sweetcorn and luncheon meat being popular favourites’.
Well here was my peg ………..certainly looked ‘nice’ - willows across at 15 mtrs, tree to my right. What more could you ask for?
In fact here’s a few smiling faces on their pegs………not forgetting the odd moaner ::)
There was a pool to my rear………..think this was where some wanted to be ………certainly looks a bit different to what we were sitting on
Well back to the match……….I did absolutely crap………….but that wasn’t because there wasn’t any fish in my peg.
At times there were loads…………..they were cruising about, it was like a Jacuzzi at times, at other times it was like a Jacuzzi with the added bonus of several fish up in the water over my line. But despite fishing hard on the deck, up in the water, my worm, corn, and pellet hook baits remained generally untouched……… .I had one bite on the pellet and one on the corn in the first 4hrs 55mins and I missed both. Nowt on the chop and caster again.
Then with 5 mins to go I had my get out of jail bite………… a second bite on the corn. I ‘played’ the fish that was going like absolute stink for 5 mins…………but just as the whistle went for the end of the match I probably put a bit too much pressure on and parted company. It didn’t bust me………I pulled out and the float shattered on impact with my top 3……….ah well that’s life………….and here’s the results
Pool Peg
Jades 1 PHIL B 8.14.0
Jades 2 MICK KENN 3.5.0
Jades 3 GEOFF E DNW
Jades 4 BRAMBLES 3.14.0

Jades 19 MR V 12.10.0
Jades 20 LASHER 1.4.0
Jades 21 TOMMY COOPER 9.3.0
What else can I report?
Well it looks like this season’s heaviest fish trophy has now moved into Rich C’s grasp - looking at the results sheet I think his 20lb winning weight included one weighing 9.7.0.
Think I heard that Tommy Cooper had another that went 8lb odd?
Cotti in 2nd place owned up to being smashed up 7 times on 6lb straight through
Yamo told me he’d lost 3 when I went on a David Bailey stroll
Heard that Geoff C caught a snake………..I didn’t follow the scales round so don’t know whether he weighed it in
That’s about all I know………..over to you all for your tales on how the day went for you.

well after four weeks of intensive excorcism i have nearly returned to normal, well what ever normal is.
the reason for such drastic measure's stem's from the simple match, when i was fortunate or unfortunate
to have the jinx (malc) on the next peg for five hour's.
i think now what really brought on the therapy was having the curse ( tk) come up to my peg before
the off and the combination of both dark force's ruined the next four week's for me.
with showing up for matches with no waterproof's,no sd card in my camera and equipment failure,
not mentioning lost fish.
it's no wonder thousand's of pound's of treatment was required i'm nearly back,(must stop eating spider's though)
heheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheheh
with all this in the background i somehow offered to give t.k. a lift to today's match on pip willow and jades at
cobhouse fisheries.
would this decision backfire(worse than a bad curry) on me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
arriving at t.k's at seven fifteen i was slightly surprised to see no activity at t.k tower's but then again,
i did say i would pick him up at seven thirty,so i really shouldn't be surprised.
so with kit in car and t.k with his "ye olde thomas thomas" we set off.
after an uneventful journey down,we arrived to find a few keen member's milling about.
i think i'm right in saying nobody who fished today had previously fished at cobhouse, but i stand to be corrected on that
it looked a nice enough venue, with a friend of mine fishing the open on an adjoining pool and tales of bulging bags of fish
i was ready to fish.
unfortunately the pools we were fishing aren't perminately pegged,so once we located our peg number's mssr's t.k and
kod set about pegging it out.
with monies collected and short walk's sorted out, the rest of the able bodies drew.
following my recent drawing ability,i elected to draw lateish and peg 18 was going to be my home for the day.
it looked very inviting,so after a detailed inspection and finding no jinx hiding (you never know) i settled down.
with a tree to my right hanging in the water upto 7 mtrs out from the bank, the water to my left being covered with
scum all the way up into the corner.
big baz being opposite to my left and t.k. opposite to my right,it was never going to be a quiet day.
i set three rigs up for the day,one at 7 mtrs along the side of the tree on the deck, one up in the water on the same line
and one down the inside edge.
after a small bream (handsize) first drop, my hopes of a good day where sky high.
then the curse finally kicked in and having only four more bites all day. it proved an hard day for everyone.
with lot's of carp cruising on top it was also a frustrating day.
t.k. should have posted by now
so congrat's to rich cashmore and shake a fist at cotti and baz for telling me they were starting weighing at peg
21 and then starting on the opposite side, so i couldn't get any catch shot's, so sorry joff.
these people don't understand i have a public to please
yamo looking very furtive(or he's just playing pocket billiard's)you decide
big baz telling haha his going to throw him in while yamo look's for change
i don't know what t. cooper is selling but it's very popular
soon to be bionic phil telling mr v he'll be able to kick his backside
my name is tony give me your money
oh s**t he's pointing that camera again look busy (sorry geoff)
i know there's a pool here somewhere
this new preston invisbox is very light apparently
mgb asking les were he can moor his boat
my peg
big baz and no he didn't moan at all
and t.k who didn't listen to any moaning
haha looking like he know's what he's doing
today's winner rich well done that man
juan chub
geoff cashmore
it's ok we will share this willow dad
if i can remember to sit on my box paul
my very own boathouse
mgb avon style and a bit of help in the background
yes the captain as only contributed to the team point's once chris
yes we've still got one
