si (me) fished that barrow stretch hundreds of times, first peg by the tree was awesome for chub and stripeys, and then a short walk over the drawbridge found the famous back hole where i learnt all about river fishing, exceptionally deep tho. The small gravel bar was good for trotting with corn. Do you remember when loads of fish were killed there following chemicals in the river? me and zorro went early one morning and found thousands of dead fish all over the stretch including barbel carp and some of biggest roach and bream imaginable. Spent hours looking in dismay at what had happened Was a shame, we went again but it never fished the same, havent been for many years, wonder how it 's fishing now.???????????? IM definetly gonna get cards this yr so i can fish barrow willington and all around burton.

yamo the peg you are on about by the tree is peg 1 and is well known for its double figure barbel on meat . That photo is taken from peg 3. Peg 1 is the other side of that tree in the pic and peg 2 is just this side of the tree.
Unfortunately that stretch cant be fished on any card as its a purely private stretch. Its only possible to fish it if you are either a member of PAD or get special permission off PAD.

Yep - nice place............. Pity it's not a bit closer plus you need to outlay on that BAA card. We used to be affiliated to the BAA until a couple of years ago........
