Being as they appear to have sold out of the AM in Stafford, just for you Bill ;)

This 31lb 7oz beautifully conditioned, coloured and wonderfully scaled mirror put in an appearance on The Extension the weekend before......

It was caught by local angler Darrell Upton

What makes the capture even more amazing that it was Darrell's first excursion on the canal on his quest for the carp that are known to frequent the water

Nah Dodge - its a proper un - where's the gut on that?

On a serious note, Darrell the captor told me that as well as being over 3ft long, what was noticable was the difference between the fish he catches from land locked syndicate and other carp waters.

This was a natural 'beast' in pristine condition - a lean fighting machine and all muscle  Image

Considering that this fish aint on a high protein boilie/pellet diet I'd certainly like to hear from an 'expert' as to what age they think the fish could be to grow to that size on a 'natural' diet...........

Cheers Mugger Image

I keep gazing in awe at it - beautiful colours and scale pattern

That was the sort of fish I was expecting Malc to latch into on the forum match - there's a fair few beasties down on that section too..........just ask Millie and Jonah - only trouble, neither never managed to sneak a glimpse of them, and were smashed up several times each, :o despite being 'tooled up' or so they thought ;)
