well it was a lovely day after a hectic Saturday afternoon trying to move boats off pegs so we could fish luckily we used every orther peg so it meant changing from evens to odds as most of the boats hadn't anyone on them
still another walk on sunday morning just to make sure no more had arrived the canal looked really good with loads of fish topping in the town a little different to the country where its weeded up with streamer weed [not cabbages] probable the worest i've seen it and with the boats cutting it all the timethe floating weed is a real problem at least it go'es over the walkover into the stream behind and not into town
at the draw i took all the money first as i had work on thirty anglers paying the top 4 and £20 every 5 pegs just in case it fished bad it would keep anglers at there pegs
all the money in and i had 4 anglers not turn up so i took a five peg section out great everything worked out and 30 annglers made there way to the pegs.i hadn't drawn very well but with us having the first round of the summer league at the weekend i needed to know what sort of target weight i would need i ended up with a level 3lb lost a skkimmer and a pike ad a few odd roach but quite happy from the area as next peg packed up and the other side had 1lb 15oz so game on
the only thing was i couldn't get a bite on hemp for some reason whether i didn't have enough roach in the peg or something :-/but i'm sure if i had left it at home i'd of caught more
plus a bit of hassel from a bloke that thinks a rod licence allows you to fish anywhere at anytime twat and he got told as well
but on the whole everything went ok hire boats were the only problem but the rest seamed to go down the middle ok
john shellard won the match with 9lb 12oz [i think i might of told bill 12lb 9oz ] and he had a boat reverse up his peg at the start but still caught at 9metres all squatt fish over G/B
Neil pittfield 2nd with 8lb 15oz again all squatt fish
in fact i didn't see any bonus fish just the odd 8oz roach or perch
