Stick Floats

Unread post by bill yards »

Looking back at the very beginning of 'stick floats'
I though by far the best ones were the 'Trentcaster' only obtainable from Tom Watson's of Nottingham. The only ones to get anywhere near them were models that Kevin and Benny gave their names to. Lots of the Notts lads used Trentcasters (you had to slightly doctor them) and I well remember Boris offering me 'silly money' for mine as the guy that made them had passed on, I think his name was Jim Friar a brilliant centre pin angler on the Trent.
I also liked the John Dean wire stems for the boily swims. I though everything else that followed those were useful but not so good imitations.
Trentcasters were the best in my book, - any thoughts Image Image Image Image
