Still a great picture it looks like Dave is on a Birmingham Parks Match at Edgbaston reservoir thems was happy days if you ran out of G/B you could pick up the wet sand and small shingle stones and lob in proving that when there are lots of fish present they come to the noise
is it edgy if not has any one got any mems to share with the guys on the site............

Yep it was Edgbaston Murffin
Dave was in the process of winning the 1992 Individual Championship with a weight of 21.12.0, fishing under the 'Darlow Tackle' banner
he was followed home by
Sid Taroni - Birmingham with 11.2.8
M Howard - Birmingham 10.15.8
Barry Hall - Bentley Bait 8.1.0
S Brookes - Birmingham 7.12.12

Remember when as a kid I used to go with Tony Scott to watch him fish in all those matches including qualifiers on Cannon Park etc.
Anyway when it came to Edgbaston I remember Tony telling me to go and watch a young lad who he thought was the best at fishing long range waggler and throwing a ball of groundbait at the float.
His name was Paul Downes of the young Starlets team who all had addidas tops with Starlets badges sewn over the addidas logo.
Tony,s team Cofton Hackett often did well in these matches. (Clive Smith, Ken Giles, Lloyd Davis etc., no wonder ! ).
As a kid I can still remember the big crowds that watched Clive Smith on the Final weekend at Edgebaston.
The floats mainly used in this long range float method were swingers.
