Wigston A.S. Teams of Four – Round 5 GUC Leicester (52 pegs)
Leicester Sensas Silver put in a strong performance to take the 5th round of the Wigston A.S. ‘Middy’ Team challenge and with league leaders Oadby Angling A slipping to joint 5th on the day, its all down to the last match with just 4 pts separating them and Leicester Sensas Gold who were 3rd on the day.
On a cold and blustery day, anglers who were afforded some shelter from the wind scored well and out in front was Wigston A.S. Red angler Wayne Hammond with a well deserved 9lb 21/2oz.
Drawn at the Kilby Bridge section, Wayne caught quality roach on hemp up to the far side reeds.
In second place was Andy Curless (Spro Blue Arc) who included over 200 small rudd and roach in his 8lb 5oz net taken from the Westminster Drive section.
Third placed, Pete Jayes (Oadby Angling A) included a few skimmers in his 7lb 13oz net taken from the County Arms basin.
