I hope I am right with the name as being an old crappity smack it is easy to get people mixed up.

OK he may have been from Tamworth but it ain't too far from Nuneaton so I was in the right area. He certainly used to fish in that area a lot.

Did he have a mate named Pat Donachie (mexican moustache)? If I am right about that they both passed on within a couple of days of each other.

CWH Hinckley, - You missed off Tony Horton, he had a tackle shop and was a top notcher; he captained Hinckley in the 80s I think.

I fished two canal matches this weekend.
1) Won with 8lb 7oz of all roach to punched bread; I had 4 lb of for 4th. SU Canal, Cowley.
2) Won with 9lb 3oz. I did it all wrong and had 1lb 14oz very late after sorting it out better. SU canal, Wolverhampton.

Two enjoyable matches, bait cost half of squatts (didn't use any). Given the conditions they were two good matches.
No blanks in either match, small turnouts though, 11 on Saturday, 19 on Sunday. Both stretches can hold many more.

I wished I was fishing it but we've put a couple of teams in a four-side League up north.

How many are fishing the Wigston League? I only ask because it certainly looks like this is the way it is going.

It very looks much as though I shall have to put a limit on that WL I was on about next year; looking at perhaps 100 but there is always a top response to anything new.

This League I'm fishing is expected to ber rock hard but had 14 teams at the beginning of December; there was still four weeks to go until the closing date!

Give 'em a good punchin'

Theres 10 13 teams of 4 on the Wigston match so far as Nursey came to my house yesterday to pick up some prizes for the Mick Holihan memorial match this weekend
