Kennet & Avon canal, Pewsey, Wilts.
88 fished (2 that never told me, and are now on the blacklist till end of season)
The canal fished quite well in most area's. Even though there was quite a hard frost the night before, which seemed to put the bigger stamp fish off a bit, even though there was a few tench and skimmers caught later in the day.
The day was won by Fox Match S.W. angler Matt Greaves who has been a feature on pewsey matches for the last 10 years. He put his experience to good use when he drew peg 202 which is a good area for tench (large bush) and he managed to catch 3 upto 3lbs on chop and caster to go with his 70 silvers for a total weight of 12lb 15oz.
Following up in 2nd was Fred Bedford of Fox Match Tipton who managed a tench, 2 skimmers and some big perch along with bits which he took on chop or worm and joker his catch totalled 12lb 8oz.
3rd place was Ben Dukes from Garbolino Blackmore Vale who put a good weight of roach together during the first 4 hrs, which he topped up with 3 skimmers in the last hour on worm over joker.

Was a good match Ian , even though it took over two hours to get there and i was spewing up on the way (plus you dont wanna see what i had to leave in a layby en route! )
Thought we might need torches with the 3.30pm finish :-/ (i heard it was cos some daft match organiser might have a 50-peg walk and likes to set up 10 rigs ) but it was still light enough to navigate the mud (swamp!) back to the cars! :D
