why is it that boat drivers cant seem to grasp the fact that anglers would just like them to tootel down the midle at a walking pace.saturday we had one thought he was in Grand prix sunday i had one who i am sure tried to steer round my pole what is so terrible hard about it...i think im turnin g into a Victor Bloody Meldrew

Actually Larry, walking pace is aprox 4mph which is the speed limit for boats on canals. So any one cruising at walking pace hasn't slowed down! I, and most considerate boaters will slow down to around about 2mph whether passing individual anglers or a contest. As for the line a boater takes we often get shouted different requests dependng on the tastes of the individual angler. "Stay in the middle mate" Slow down mate" Speed up mate, stir the mud up for us" Go down the far side mate" Perhaps a sign should be erected at the ends of a contest asking the boaters to slow down and go down the middle if that is what most of the anglers prefer.why is it that boat drivers cant seem to grasp the fact that anglers would just like them to tootel down the midle at a walking pace.
Most non fishing boaters will not understand the requirements of the anglers unless they have been informed.
