59 anglers fished on a frozen Birmingham mainline canal

Apart from the new section at Coseley the canal fished crap.

Jon Arthur was one of the lucky few to draw in the first 14 pegs and made no mistake with a roach catch taken on bread then joker to total 13-7-10.

John Fowler was on Jon's right and finished 2nd with 10-4-0 despite releasing a double figure pike.

3rd was Lewis Breeze with 8-11-0 from the end peg next to Coseley tunnel

4th was Mark Hardman with 6-12-8

5th Shaun Gould 6-9-0

6th Darran Bickerton 6-3-0

team honours on the day went to the Mosella black country trio of Mark Hardman, Noel Wilkins and John Cartwright with 15 points.

In second place was Sensas North west green with 16, two points ahead of Skakespeare ugly Stix.

Sum of us drove 170 odd miles to catch 1 crappity smackin perch !

Wouldn't mind field testing one of them MF suits if there was a size L knocking around gathering dust in an office cupboard

Had 30 odd on the bread but to be honest the fish were no bigger and it wasnt necessary in hindsight. It was solid!

Dave Harrell's goretex has seen very little use this winter. I will ask him if he still wants it...

Bet the sections would be up now if evey crappity smack in B & C hadnt blanked ? Even the pike couldnt be arsed feeding it was that cold !
