No Joff; I have a tray full of 2x10 MP6s all Silstar/WBC 0.065 straight through to MP1s 22s for punch. Some use styls, some use shot. I use 5x13 shot and adjust the shot on the rig on the bank to how I feel fit depending if I am using punch (usually am at this time of year) or squatt, pinkie maggot or seed. Just occasional this can be the better caster rig too.
Also have caster rigs set up on the next line up (1.7, not sure of diameter) to MP6s 3 and 4 X 10 with Tubertini Series 4 Opaco hooks, 20s or 18s
If punch fish are big (sometimes they are, I switch to the slightly heavier and quicker rig).
Most of our winter matches are roach and skimmers.
In all cases I only use Fox No 2 laccy, although it is slightly stronger than most.
I have tries all sorts of line for donkeys of years and vitually all our 'bread' guy use WBC or Silstar 0.065. It may be slightly stronger than it states but importantly you can move those 13 shot without it wrinkling and weakening you line.
You can probable see now that there is no use for a hook length with these rigs.
