Rayne Lodge top lake.
I have now realised there is a steep hill leading away from the lake. However no one has mentioned the actual fishing.
What methods work.
I have tried to search the venue and all I come up with is a front page advertising the fishery. Has anyone blogged it or now what I can expect.

There will be a report on Peters blog for last year (31st May)when he fished the pellet wag. Colin will be fishing it the same as usual with paste but will switch to floaters if they come up to the top.
All the usual stuff works Keith and the fish are varying sizes up to low doubles. Most tend to fish short but then that is usual for our club wherever we go. Im sure the feeder/Method would work especially pegs 16 to 20 ( not the area you really want to draw ) though most have never bothered with it.
Tony will also be looking to catch on the surface if he can especially late on, until then he will try every bait there is hooking it every different way he can, and then try to take your Pinocchio title off of you at the end.
Colin, Tony and I rate pegs 12 to 14a ( my favourite peg on the whole complex ) as the best bank to be on with 6 to 11 next favoured. It is the highest lake of the 3 and can get a bit of wind on it but there are lots of trees round it giving plenty of shelter unless the wind is in your face.

I cant find a postcode but Ill see if Colin has a dayticket with it on tomorrow.
Meanwhile these should get you there.
From the M11 northbound take Junction 8a ( Junction 8 coming Southbound) follow the signs onto the A120 heading east towards Braintree.
Approx 15 miles take the exit onto the B1256 which should be signposted Braintree.
Take the first exit left at the roundabout onto Pods Brook Road.
About ½ mile at the next roundabout turn left onto Rayne Road towards Rayne.
100 to 150 yards on the right is a small lane take that and follow up for 100 yards and the car park is on your left.
The route from the south is easier to take a slightly longer route.
From Dartford stay on the M25 until the A12 turnoff Junction 28.
Go right at the roundabout onto the A12 towards Chelmsford.
Take Junction 19 onto the A130 ( There are lots of roundabouts and its difficult to describe the whole way but just follow the A130 Essex Regiment Way))
After about 4 miles go right at the Roundabout signed onto the A131 Braintree Road
About 6 miles you will reach the A120 and a large roundabout. Go straight across this and again straight across the next one just under the flyover onto Pods Brook Road.
About ½ mile at the next roundabout turn left onto Rayne Road towards Rayne.
