for what ever reason the anglers that moan about natural venues specially the winter league final venue the river nene should take a real look at the result this year.teams that got there heads around the weed and put the practice in and formulated a team plan did well or did they ?? and thats the why natural venues are good for the sport its alright putting the time in to practice but angling has a way of kicking even the best in the teeth.i know its only rumours but it said that yesterday was the last time it would be fished on the nene i just hope it goes back to the Trent and not commercials or the small teams wouldn't have a chance believe me
the results yesterday were very close all the way through and we have a new winning team shakespeare brilliant result i think this shows why natural venues should stay in finals any team of six couold of won yesterday but shakespeare really showed the way with a average score of 3 per person and the top individual
i've got some photos not many but i'l put them up later specially the one with me and chavey top bloke mate your the sort of bloke i could of spent some time in the pub with its a shame your so far away top bloke
if you notice the photo of middleholme was taken on thursday yesterday the water level started at the top of the first step this might of affected the north bank with all that fresh water as quite a few expected some bigger weights from there
i love the angling times final its the pinnacle of our sport as far as im concerned and also love the nene !!this might be because i always draw at middleholme and the five finals i have fished there enjoyed every 1 especailly the practicing it brings the whole team together and was hoping to get there this year so all our new anglers could experience this. all credit to shaky because its not an easy nut to crack and they go from strength to strength, lets hope mr downes finally opens his eyes and realises not all new england anglers have to come from piglets and gives jonny the chance i think he rightly deserves. i just ope tipton are the next ones to lift a bit of silverware in a few weeks!!
