with the linc's county boys having to travel the draw is at 10 am so have a lie in breakfast or bunch will be served
we will be fishing 12 till 5pm
all teams are full but if anyone can't make it please let us know
it will be a float only match and anything counts this is because nigel has stocked some 6 to 8oz commons and mirrors in a long with the 1000s of F1s skimmers and roach
i think the only rule is no floating baits
TWO keepnets is a must and barbless hooks are as well so if you do have a spare keepnet just take it in case thanks
one last rule only two legs of your box allowed in the water [unless the water is very low]
if you want anymore details tap west midlands golf course and it should bring up barston fisheries
i just hope everyone enjoys the fishing as its a cracking fishery at this time of year

On a serious note Joff and i do not want to offend your excellent organising skills but i think you have made a mistake by making it float only. Let me explain :
At this time of the year at Barston there are plenty of fish on the pole line no doubt and the pole often wins, however there are probably alot of anglers who are better on the feeder be it method or cage than the pole and prefer to fish it. I think this will be a good leveller for some people who would try to fish for carp than bream, F1's etc. By saying this i also advocate that all fish count and this should make it interesting and give anglers who fish these methods the chance to fish to their strengths as with the pole anglers. Any thoughts on this

choppy we had a captains meeting after the match because of this
i was told that nigel had put extra carp in now you know and i do that everyone will catch theses and would make weighing a nightmare
so thats why its float only it was a case of a vote last year i ran two matches float only one with 24 anglers and one with 21 two pegs miss a peg both matches everyone caught a lot of fish 749lb and 847lb in total each match
right the better angler did win on the day pete caton with 61lb yet the next 3 places were anglers that had only fished it a couple of time[me for one ] these matches were no carp allowed matches. after the match one or two anglers said you should of let carp count as we lost a couple that would of won me the match so what do i do mate
there are teams in the league that could have 6 feeder boys in there team or 6 method boys oadby will be very strong but they only have ten anglers to choose from and they have put all there eggs in on basket for theses two rounds but if they don't win suddenly frisbyand the river become very hard for them
i would say 90% are happy with float only choppy
and if it blows a gala and you can only fish 6 metres so be it because thats where the fish will be anyway
